Hager GeoScience:
STAFF

   JUTTA L. HAGER
   President
Dr. Jutta Hager, President, brings to HGI over 25 years of experience in the application of geology and geophysics to geotechnical and environmental problems. At HGI she is responsible for all aspects of project management, from preparing cost estimates and proposals to interpreting and integrating geological and geophysical data.  She holds an M.A. and Ph.D. in Geological Sciences from Harvard University.

MARIO CARNEVALE
   Vice President, Operations
Mario Carnevale, Vice President, Operations, has over 30 years of professional experience in engineering geology, geophysics, resource evaluation, and computer modeling. His experience ranges from the exploitation of unconventional gas resources to field mapping in Russia, Africa, and Brazil. Since joining HGI in 1996, Mario has continued his work on diverse and interesting projects, from GPR evaluation of concrete in Guam to seismic MASW in support of emerald mining in North Carolina.  He holds a B.S in Geology from Salem State College and an M.S. in Geology from Boston College.

JONATHAN BRINKMANN
Geologist/Geophysicist

Jonathan Brinkmann, Geologist/Geophysicist, has provided support for HGI in its southern New England geologic projects, as well as both surface and borehole geophysics. From 2004 to 2006 he performed mapping and blast monitoring tasks on HGI’s Combined Sewer Overflow Project in Providence, RI, and during 2007 he logged borings for the Homestead Avenue Interceptor Extension in Hartford, CT. Jonathan received a B.S. in Geological Sciences from Salem State College and completed graduate course work in hydrogeology and environmental geology at Wright State University

ALEX BULLER
Geophysicist/Project Manager
Alex Buller, Geophysicist/Project Manager, has over the last several years applied his technical background in geophysics to a number of HGI’s specialized projects, ranging from seismic and GPR stratigraphic studies to locating piles beneath concrete floors and buried targets with EM. He has also become the company’s GPS specialist. Alex has an Honors B.S. in Earth Science from York University in Toronto, Canada.

JOSHUA KING
Geophysicist/Project Manager
Joshua King, Geophysicist/Project Manager, has used GPR and EM for HGI’s archaeological investigations and has become HGI’s specialist in large-scale utility surveys combining GPR and electromagnetic locating. He has a B.S. in Geology from Keene State College and an M.S. in Geophysics from Texas A&M.

KEITH SOROTA
Physical Scientist
Keith Sorota, Physical Scientist, has a B.S. in Earth and Environmental Science from the University of Massachusetts in Lowell. Since joining HGI he has been honing his skills on downhole and surface geophysical equipment and techniques. With his 40-hour OSHA and ExxonMobil LPS training, he can now work on the entire range of HGI projects.

JEFFREY SHRAGGE
Geophysical Associate
Jeff Shragge, Associate, applies his background  in seismic theory and imaging to specialized HGI projects.  Jeff is a Ph.D. candidate in Geophysics at Stanford University and remains an HGI associate.   Jeff received his B.S in Physics from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario and M.Sc. in Geophysics from the University of British Columbia.
